Position Summary:
As a Network Engineer at GlobalXperts, you will be responsible for the engineering, operation, maintenance, and support of our clients’ and internal network infrastructure. You will support tasks across different tiers (L1, L2, and L3) based on experience and business need, working with a range of technologies including routers, switches, wireless systems, firewalls, and network monitoring tools.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the network infrastructure meets operational performance, security, and scalability requirements in a 24×7 environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• General (Applicable to all levels):
• Provide remote technical support for LAN/WAN/WLAN network devices and end-user connectivity issues.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and escalate issues related to routers, switches, firewalls, access points, and wireless controllers.
• Document technical activities and changes as per GlobalXperts and client SOPs.
• Perform scheduled upgrades and patching of network equipment.
• Collaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders to resolve network issues efficiently.
• Maintain compliance with change control and security policies.

L1 Level:

• Basic troubleshooting and incident triage.
• Log and route tickets appropriately.
• Monitor network using tools like SolarWinds or similar.
• Execute predefined scripts and processes under guidance.
• Support onsite teams remotely.

L2 Level:

• Perform intermediate troubleshooting of VLANs, VPNs, routing, switching, and wireless connectivity.
• Configure network devices (routers, switches, WLCs) as per standard templates.
• Work with tools like Cisco Prime, ISE, WLC, Meraki dashboard, etc.
• Coordinate with OEMs or carriers for resolution.
• Create and maintain network documentation.

L3 Level:

• Design, deploy, and optimize network solutions (LAN/WAN/WLAN).
• Advanced troubleshooting of protocols such as BGP, OSPF, VPLS, DMVPN, GRE, etc.
• Work on large-scale network upgrades and migrations.
• Perform root cause analysis for high-impact incidents.
• Lead network projects and mentor junior engineers.

Technical Skills & Experience:

• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, STP, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with Cisco devices (Catalyst, ISR, ASR, Nexus, Meraki).
• Experience in Wireless Networking – deployment, troubleshooting, and support.
• Knowledge of VPN and DMVPN configurations.
• Familiarity with Cisco ISE, WLCs, WCS, and CleanAir.
• Working knowledge of network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG).
• Load balancer experience (F5 or equivalent) is a plus.
• Experience with Cisco Meraki cloud-managed networking is an advantage.
• Exposure to network security best practices and firewall basics.

Education & Certifications:

• Graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or related field.
• Required: CCNA (for L1), CCNP (for L2/L3).
• Preferred: CCIE or equivalent advanced certification.
• Vendor-specific certifications (Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto, etc.) are a plus.
